November 25: Blessings on (U.S.) Thanksgiving Day from the Virtual Abbey

On Thanksgiving Day 2010,
in the midst of abundance
we pray for the hungry and seek to do more.
You're invited to join us.

Feeding America is the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity. Our mission is to feed America's hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks and engage our country in the fight to end hunger. Our network of more than 200 food banks serves all 50 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico, securing and distributing more than 2.5 billion pounds of food and grocery products annually.

Food For The Poor is the number one international relief and development charity in the United States, feeding 2 million poor every day. Our Christian relief programs and projects are helping children and the poorest of the poor by providing food, housing, health care, education, water projects, emergency relief and micro-enterprise assistance in the Caribbean and Latin America.

The Hunger Site

The Hunger Site was founded in 1999 to focus the power of the Internet on a specific humanitarian need: the eradication of world hunger. On average, over 220,000 individuals from around the world visit the site each day to click the yellow "Click Here to Give - it's FREE" button. To date, more than 300 million visitors have given more than 671 million cups of staple food.
