Image as Insight: Winds of Grace

I made an overnight trip to Duluth, Minnesota in early August to see the eight tall ships that had sailed into the harbor as part of a summer tour of the Great Lakes. A ship is one of those archetypal images that touch us at a deep level, evoking both our vulnerability to the elements and our ability to fashion vessels (of many types) that transcend our limitations. I was especially taken with this one's red sails.

The winds of grace are always blowing,
it is you who must raise your sails.

─ Rabindranath Tagore

Ships also take us away and bring us home again. Thanks for the beautiful picture and the quote from Tagore. A beautiful, gentle reminder of He who is always waiting for us to 'raise our sails'
